On Wednesday 7th December 2016, the Rotary Club of Derby hosted a tea party for dozens of elderly folk from various Live at Home schemes around the city. The tea party was held at the Polish Club on Kedleston Road between 2pm to 4.30pm. There were over 15 volunteers from the Rotary Club, and together with partners and friends they hosted an afternoon of tea and entertainment for nearly 100 pensioners from around Derby.
These elderly folk were invited by the club to enjoy an afternoon tea and be entertained by a Romanian Quartet swing band, ‘Daniblue’, a band that can be heard busking in Derby. They were followed by the choir from the Emmanuel School on Kedleston Road who performed a variety of songs and poems. The guests attending also had an opportunity to exercise their lungs by joining in with some carol singing.
