In November last year (2016) 17 Derby schools received 10,000 crocus corms between them and planted them in preparation of a glorious display of purple flowers next spring. The Rotary Club of Derby celebrated World Polio Day this year by giving schools the opportunity to plant up to 1000 crocus corms in their school grounds or in a nearby park. We were delighted when 4 secondary and 13 primary schools across the city took up our offer. We asked these schools to take photos of the crocuses when they were in full bloom in the spring of 2017.
We are now getting some photos back from these schools showing where they they were planted and the wonderful spread of colour they now give –
